Booty Hunter (Harem Station #1) by J.A. Huss, K.C. Cross
fiction , romance , sci-fi / August 24, 2019

Hell yeah, I want to join them on their station. Where can I sign in? This was refreshing and unique erotic sci-fi romance. It is an entertaining story, full of mystery, brotherhood, sexy surprises, unexpected emotions, drama and more. The author creates an amazing new world for sci-fi lovers. New races, cyborgs, ships, AI, humanoids, glowing princess and more are what awaits you here. Serpint is a Bounty Hunter who travels around the space to collect/steal the princes. When he returns with Princess Lyra, thinking she is just another dull slave, he is in for a glowing surprise. Their relationship is quickly developing, and their sex seems to annihilate the Universe.  But soon secrets are revealed, and nothing is like it used to be. The main characters are fun, despite being different. I liked how their personality is shown through the conversation and their decisions and they are not perfect.  Lyra is not some week female; she is strong and smart and determined. I loved every one of them, despite others being in the background, there is potential for their own stories and books. They are brothers but every one of them has their own secrets. I liked how there…

Alien Overnight by Robin L. Rotham
aliens , contemporary , erotica , fiction , menage , romance / January 20, 2019

Who doesn’t like kinky aliens?! Ahh, everybody should 🙂 A new author for me as I was looking something kinky and sci-fi, this one popped out. It was entertaining, funny with a bit of romance and some hot sex. We are thrown right into explanation of alien anatomy and their need for women to reproduce. Commander Kellen is on Earth to gather them when he notice one exceptional woman – Dr. Monica. He quickly claims her as his mate and she is swiftly acquaintance with their anatomy first hand. She is shocked with revelation of her genetics and past but in the end everything fits to its place. It was a quick read and there were moments I really wanted to shake the main characters, so much could be avoided if they only talked and listened and not just assume. I was struggling a bit with their technology and their anatomy regardless of description. There were moments that tried to be emotional but something was lacking. Overall it was an ok romance and fun read for me.

The Harbinger: A Reverse Harem Fantasy by Candace Wondrak

Interesting new series from Ms. Wondrak. She creates a whole new world called The Second where you can meet other races (the Elven, the Malus, the Ulen and the Dracon) and where different rules apply. I can see some similarities with common mythology but nevertheless they are different species with supernatural powers and most of them are way too beautiful to be trusted. At least that is what Faith claims. Faith is a young student at the Academy on the Earth, where she is learning to become a hunter for people making illegal portals to the other Wolds or smuggling something through it. She is a young rebel, sometimes a bit annoying and making some immature decisions. Her attitude may come out a bit arrogant, but she is just a snarky teenager and that shows in her behaviour with braking the rules all the time. I like how she is acting her age and is not all mature and perfect and making adult decisions which make her more realistic. I liked Her interaction with Light and others which was funny and sarcastic. Moving forward with the story, while going into the Second she is dragged into the prophecy of the…

Edge of Humanity (Only Human #5) by Candace Blevins

Kirsten starts with a bang in this one. Her rightful vengeance against Gavin is detailed and sadistic. There are moments she is in doubt but she quickly correct herself remembering him violating her and enjoying it. We get some insight into his past and. I could almost call it conditioning as it made him the way he is. I understand some of his reasoning so I don’t hate him completely. Her punishment is brutal and almost symbolic with her holding his heart. I still regret her relationship with Abbott but there were other path meant for her. Kirsten goes to China. So this book has more mystic and spiritual ways in finding her old teacher and learning new things. Her power grows incredibly. It was interesting twist seeing Eastern culture, philosophy and their mythology that is much different than ours. Their everyday life is more intervened with it so following her path gets us some insight. And Mrs. Blevins overcome the cultural difference with ease so the reader doesn’t feel bewildered even though he is not familiar with their ways. There is little sex in this one, but that one scene with Nathan makes up for it as Mrs. Blevins…

Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark #1) by Gena Showalter
angels , demons , fantasy , fiction , magic , paranormal , romance , suspense / May 16, 2018

First let me say I am a fan of Gena and her Lords of the Underworld so I had great expectation about this book. I was a bit disappointed. Not that it was bad but this was more of an action movie story than paranormal romance. The constant fight between good and evil and never-ending inner battles. Zacharel is on his way to lose his wings if he doesn’t change his path. He is ruthless and strong and somehow selfish in his way to destruction. But when he meets Annabelle he doesn’t understand the appeal at first. But the more time he spend with her, the more he understand why are humans important and precious. Annabelle is a strong girl who is falsely accused of killing her parents and put in the mental institution, because no one believes her there are monsters (demons) walking among people. She suffered so much but came out stronger. I like my heroines strong and that they are not always damsel in distress  in need of a great hero. So I liked that about her, that she took care of herself despite the circumstances. When Zacharel shows herself to her, some things finally make sense to…

The Lucky Ones by Tiffany Reisz
fiction , mystery , romance , suspense , thriller / March 31, 2018

What a wonderful read. I admit that Mrs. Reisz is one of my favourite and go-to authors without checking the blurb. If she wrote it I will read it. Her writing is wonderful and consumable. Her characters are well built and realistic, her scenes and dialogues pull you in. This book will have you question your moral values, because the line between right and wrong is not solid, there is a huge grey space between. Allison was an orphan, who was adopted by neuro surgeon Vincent Capello. He was nice, smart, rich and loved to help troubled children. She was happy with her adoptive family. While living with him, she had an accident that left her with a memory gap. She is forced to leave her adoptive father, brothers and sister who she loved deeply. Now as an adult she receive the letter from her stepbrother Roland that Mr. Capello is dying. She still holds a grudge against them that they didn’t fight for her, but decides to come to visit them anyway. She has to face the past and back there it is revealing layer by layer. Nothing is as it first seemed and every truth will be questioned….

Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami
fantasy , fiction , philosophy / March 28, 2018

This is the first book I read by Haruki Murakami. I heard a lot about this author and came across some great reviews but I still did not know what expect. This is definitely not a regular story. It is twisted, philosophical, spiritual fantasy altogether. The metaphysics reality can be somehow confusing at the beginning. Every character has its own story but they are all connected in some way, but as the story developed the thing are making more sense / or as much as they can. The mystery behind every event is surrealistic. The writing is wonderful, the side stories and conversation as well. There is the contrast between characters and events but in the end everything melts together. It seems like every path has its own meaning and there is symbolism everywhere. There seems to be so much knowledge behind but it was a great experience to read Kafka on the shore. Few of my favorite quotes: Pointless thinking is worse than no thinking at all. Things outside you are projections of what’s inside you, and what’s inside you is a projection of what’s outside. So when you are step into the labyrinth outside you, at the same…

Angel 6.0 (The Box Set): Space Opera Romance by Travis Luedke
erotica , fiction , paranormal , romance / March 28, 2018

I received this book in exchange for an honest review  She is Angel 6.0 created in labs to perfect the human genome….but sometimes she is more human than human. Her journey is amazing but also painful. Her need to belong and feel like a human is driving her through the whole galaxy. We start with little knowledge of her abilities but throughout the story we get to learn much more. The story is filled with tragedy, drama, sex, pain, masochism, slavery…. The reader is sucked into the dark world of aliens, crime, violence, non-con sex, pain, bdsm aspects but there is even place for love and romance, even though nonconventional. I thought she will never get some deserved happiness. She lost so many people she loved but let’s admit she did fall in love fast. Vicious things happened to her but she fought for what she believed. She was like a killer machine when done wrong but with more empathy than real humans. There are many different dimensions of this book. Author created extraordinary world and species with their own politics, rules and language. Nevertheless there are still things that keeps us wondering and on the edge till the end….
