Girl Long Gone by Danielle M. Haas
contemporary , crime , dark , romance , suspense / May 28, 2020

Girl Long Gone by Danielle M. Haas is a fast-paced suspense novel with a hint of romance. The main story is about detective Connor, whose sister is missing. He dedicates everything to finding her and everything points to a rich snob Gabriel. The problem is, nobody believes him, so his search is mainly on his own. The search and the game of cat and mice is hastily put into the whole plot. There is a hint of mind games that I like in those kinds of stories. A few little things in the plot are a bit dubious but if you accept them, the story is ok. Everything is developing rapidly, even romance and the characters do not have time to flourish into their full potential. That is why I missed getting to know them more. We get some of their past and facts, but nothing more. I liked the premise and the story, but it could have a bit more suspense and complication for my taste. I had a feeling everything went predictably smoothly. Overall, this is an ok read and it was absorbing enough to keep reading to the end. I would recommend it to readers who like a…

The Living Canvas (Master of Trickery Duet #2) by Pepper Winters
abuse , contemporary , crime , dark , erotica , mindfuck , romance / November 26, 2019

First, you have to read the previous book to understand all. This one starts at the exact moment the previous ended. I was blown apart with so many emotions running through me while reading this, it was hard to process them all. I want to give feedback spoiler-free so let me just say, there are raw emotions, guilt, terrible pain, unfairness and so much cruelty I wanted to shake the responsible for ruining innocent lives. But most of all, there is pure love that finds its way in the midst of all horrible things happening. There are so many secrets and I can’t help wondering what outcome would there be if people were honest, forthcoming and brave from the beginning. The assumptions and bad decisions in the name of protecting each other are also making things worse. Furthermore, I understood her reasoning but her bipolar behavior and indecision were making me crazy. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book despite my love-hate-love relationship, it’s just that I was so consumed by the book it was like living it through the characters. In the end, they finally get their HEA, despite or because of all the obstacles.

The Body Painter (Master of Trickery Duet, #1) by Pepper Winters
abuse , contemporary , crime , dark , erotica , suspense / September 11, 2019

This was heartbreaking, all-consuming and addictive. I am an emotional wreck after reading this. How will I wait for the sequel? Ms. Winters, you must be a sadist to let us wait for the part two 🙂 Gil was Olin’s soulmate. Her rock, her tormentor, her everything and then he just left and pushed her away. After a few years, she accidentally runs upon him and the intense chemistry is still there. But he changed. There are new secrets, new tormentor and new heartache. How much can she take? Everything, because he is still the one and only. This is not a happy story, it is dark, passionate, unfair, intense, emotional and cruel. It is also a love story. And in every love story, people hurt and bleed and tear up their heart that the pain is almost physical. I went through the roller coaster with this story, I cried with unfairness for a young boy, got angry toward people cruelty and wielding they power, I wanted to smack them and shake them, but most of all I felt for both of them. So much happened because of other people selfishness and the life they were put in, so much…

Her Web Master by Normandie Alleman
BDSM , contemporary , erotica , romance / August 13, 2019

This one was a sexy hot introduction to BDSM fantasy. Sophie is on the line of divorce and she became curious about the lifestyle, so she gets herself an online Dom. Their dynamic was HOT, and his instructions were inventive despite all of it being a bit clinical and like from the textbook. He didn’t lack imagination so the scenes were intense. I did n0t like his attitude sometimes, there is dirty talk and incorporated humiliation and there is being a jerk. He crossed that line at times. I also missed aftercare with their scenes and that was clearly bothering Sophie too. I liked their scenes but they were lacking chemistry between them. The characters were somehow just following their scenery, so I couldn’t connect with them. Maybe because of the online thing but I think they could be more involved despite that obstacle. The ending was abrupt and we still don’t know what happened with the divorce. I also missed some suspense. Despite all, it was one hell of a sexy read and I would recommend it to people who are silently lurking in kinky waters 🙂

Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby

The series list: The Risk Sidetracked Scarlet Angel All the Lies Paint it all red I binged through this series I was so consumed. It was intense and I went through the roller coaster of emotions. I Cursed, I cried and laugh at the same time. Lana and her brother were tortured, raped and left to die 10 years ago. Everything was covered by corrupted and scared people, even in high places. But she came back. She plotted and learned 10 years for revenge and she is not backing down. What she didn’t expect was to find love in the middle of her rampage. She is so strong and I admired her for all she went through. The plot was intense and we get to see more and more of the past through the series. The moral compass is twisted and I couldn’t fault her for anything she does. I loved the dialogue and sarcasm, and I laughed at the pun-intended jokes. There was so much wrongness in that town I was glad it burned. There is so much more to say about the series, but you have to read it. The secrets are coming out and nobody involved is…

Share Me by Ker Dukey, K. Webster

First, let me say I’m a big fan of K.Dukey and K. Webster. I love their writing style, steamy scenes, and darker themes. So I was looking forward to their joined forces in this reverse harem romance. It is sexy and full of hot scenes. The guys are sexy as hell and I loved how every one of them had their own perk. One is kinky, other is sweet, third is funny… So sex is always hot and on the table and there is no jealousy. The girl was ok, I would prefer more of a backbone but nevertheless, she managed them all 🙂 The thing that bothered me was so many well-known phrases in the plot and in their conversation. Excessive use of worn-out clichés I didn’t expect from good authors like them. Even the storyline was on the verge of boring and lacking suspense. The saving grace was hot sex and their dedication to be with her. It is a good book but I must say I expected more from them. So if you are looking for a steamy reverse harem romance and don’t need much in conversation or suspense, pick this and you will enjoy your evening.

Kissed by a Dark Prince (Eternal Mates #1) by Felicity Heaton

A new author for me that get me hooked. Olivia is a scientist that works for a company studying other species. When one night one hot injured male lands on her table she is struck by his beauty and curious about his species. But when he bites her all bets are off. They are both forced to fight the bond trying to connect them as they are fated mates. I liked Olivia. She is smart, fun, determined and also doesn’t back down – I liked that about her. Being strong despite being human. Loren is the last prince of elves and he wasn’t in contact with humans for a long time. He is intense, arrogant, protective, kind and all male. He is a warrior with brains. Their chemistry is sparkling and when they both finally give in, it is hot as hell. I liked their bonding, their conversation and revealing the past. I hurt for his brother and I am hoping to see more of him in future books. I loved the world and species the author creates and I can’t wait to read more about it. It is a good paranormal romance with some suspense and interesting characters. The…

The Dirty Ones by J.A. Huss
contemporary , dark , erotica , mystery , romance , suspense , thriller / January 31, 2019

Buy this book now. Seriously! Just wow. I was blown away with every chapter. One of the best mystery, thriller, suspense, erotic romances lately. I am not even sure how to categorize it. It is a great mix of everything entwined. The author writes a wonderful plot, mystery with so many questions along. I went through the whole specter of emotions while reading this and it was worth it. The characters are authentic and realistic, every one of them has their own story but together they are connected with the past. The things that happened should stay there but the past doesn’t want to stay buried. 10 years after attending their senior year someone wants to play a game. Are the memories real? What is the real truth? Just one – that they are the Diry Ones and this is their story! I loved the suspense and couldn’t stop reading until I had all the answers. And when I had them I wanted to read it all over again. I wanted to cry, to yell to hug them or just be with them. The suspense, the building and the romance with an erotic encounter is the perfect mix in an…

Notice by K. Webster
abuse , contemporary , dark , erotica , romance , suspense / January 20, 2019

This was one intense ride. I like how the author knows how to hit taboo themes and makes them very readable. Violet suffered a lot by her abusive ex boyfriend. From rape, pimping to forced drugs and more. She is in hiding but works for a company with eccentric chef. After 6 year not being appreciated as a employee, she decides to quit – but than her boss finally notice her. She becomes his obsession. Their chemistry is sparkling and they just click in nonconventional way. Their sex is smoking hot and his dirty talk would fire up even the dead. I hurt with them and both of their past but they both survived and didn’t became victims of their decisions. Yeah they were both a bit different but in a good way 🙂 I liked that about them. This is one good darkish erotica story.

Alien Overnight by Robin L. Rotham
aliens , contemporary , erotica , fiction , menage , romance / January 20, 2019

Who doesn’t like kinky aliens?! Ahh, everybody should 🙂 A new author for me as I was looking something kinky and sci-fi, this one popped out. It was entertaining, funny with a bit of romance and some hot sex. We are thrown right into explanation of alien anatomy and their need for women to reproduce. Commander Kellen is on Earth to gather them when he notice one exceptional woman – Dr. Monica. He quickly claims her as his mate and she is swiftly acquaintance with their anatomy first hand. She is shocked with revelation of her genetics and past but in the end everything fits to its place. It was a quick read and there were moments I really wanted to shake the main characters, so much could be avoided if they only talked and listened and not just assume. I was struggling a bit with their technology and their anatomy regardless of description. There were moments that tried to be emotional but something was lacking. Overall it was an ok romance and fun read for me.
