The Living Canvas (Master of Trickery Duet #2) by Pepper Winters
abuse , contemporary , crime , dark , erotica , mindfuck , romance / November 26, 2019

First, you have to read the previous book to understand all. This one starts at the exact moment the previous ended. I was blown apart with so many emotions running through me while reading this, it was hard to process them all. I want to give feedback spoiler-free so let me just say, there are raw emotions, guilt, terrible pain, unfairness and so much cruelty I wanted to shake the responsible for ruining innocent lives. But most of all, there is pure love that finds its way in the midst of all horrible things happening. There are so many secrets and I can’t help wondering what outcome would there be if people were honest, forthcoming and brave from the beginning. The assumptions and bad decisions in the name of protecting each other are also making things worse. Furthermore, I understood her reasoning but her bipolar behavior and indecision were making me crazy. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book despite my love-hate-love relationship, it’s just that I was so consumed by the book it was like living it through the characters. In the end, they finally get their HEA, despite or because of all the obstacles.

Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby

The series list: The Risk Sidetracked Scarlet Angel All the Lies Paint it all red I binged through this series I was so consumed. It was intense and I went through the roller coaster of emotions. I Cursed, I cried and laugh at the same time. Lana and her brother were tortured, raped and left to die 10 years ago. Everything was covered by corrupted and scared people, even in high places. But she came back. She plotted and learned 10 years for revenge and she is not backing down. What she didn’t expect was to find love in the middle of her rampage. She is so strong and I admired her for all she went through. The plot was intense and we get to see more and more of the past through the series. The moral compass is twisted and I couldn’t fault her for anything she does. I loved the dialogue and sarcasm, and I laughed at the pun-intended jokes. There was so much wrongness in that town I was glad it burned. There is so much more to say about the series, but you have to read it. The secrets are coming out and nobody involved is…
