Girl Long Gone by Danielle M. Haas is a fast-paced suspense novel with a hint of romance. The main story is about detective Connor, whose sister is missing. He dedicates everything to finding her and everything points to a rich snob Gabriel. The problem is, nobody believes him, so his search is mainly on his own. The search and the game of cat and mice is hastily put into the whole plot. There is a hint of mind games that I like in those kinds of stories. A few little things in the plot are a bit dubious but if you accept them, the story is ok. Everything is developing rapidly, even romance and the characters do not have time to flourish into their full potential. That is why I missed getting to know them more. We get some of their past and facts, but nothing more. I liked the premise and the story, but it could have a bit more suspense and complication for my taste. I had a feeling everything went predictably smoothly. Overall, this is an ok read and it was absorbing enough to keep reading to the end. I would recommend it to readers who like a…
5 amazing stars, The Sinners are back with a brand new amazing story New city and new chapters of life are bringing something different…it seems everybody is changed, more mature but there are some things inside of all of them, they can’t run away from. Søren was suspended from the Jesuits and he is dealing with it in his own way. Kingsley is expecting his third child and is nervous and panicked as hell. Nora is almost as usual self – getting involved in things that mean trouble. The priest committed suicide, but how is he connected to Nora? She needs to know! When I first heard the title of this book, I thought it will be about Søren and his life after Jesuits, but nooo, this one is about some other priest. There are many correlations through the story, that you can connect to their life, if you know their past and I found that very intriguing. I loved every minute of it, and that the story is placed in New Orleans, with magic and voodoo and witches and….be still my heart, it is perfect. An average reader might read it as classic mystery, but if you read closely…
First, you have to read the previous book to understand all. This one starts at the exact moment the previous ended. I was blown apart with so many emotions running through me while reading this, it was hard to process them all. I want to give feedback spoiler-free so let me just say, there are raw emotions, guilt, terrible pain, unfairness and so much cruelty I wanted to shake the responsible for ruining innocent lives. But most of all, there is pure love that finds its way in the midst of all horrible things happening. There are so many secrets and I can’t help wondering what outcome would there be if people were honest, forthcoming and brave from the beginning. The assumptions and bad decisions in the name of protecting each other are also making things worse. Furthermore, I understood her reasoning but her bipolar behavior and indecision were making me crazy. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book despite my love-hate-love relationship, it’s just that I was so consumed by the book it was like living it through the characters. In the end, they finally get their HEA, despite or because of all the obstacles.
An erotic story full of action and darker themes.
This was heartbreaking, all-consuming and addictive. I am an emotional wreck after reading this. How will I wait for the sequel? Ms. Winters, you must be a sadist to let us wait for the part two 🙂 Gil was Olin’s soulmate. Her rock, her tormentor, her everything and then he just left and pushed her away. After a few years, she accidentally runs upon him and the intense chemistry is still there. But he changed. There are new secrets, new tormentor and new heartache. How much can she take? Everything, because he is still the one and only. This is not a happy story, it is dark, passionate, unfair, intense, emotional and cruel. It is also a love story. And in every love story, people hurt and bleed and tear up their heart that the pain is almost physical. I went through the roller coaster with this story, I cried with unfairness for a young boy, got angry toward people cruelty and wielding they power, I wanted to smack them and shake them, but most of all I felt for both of them. So much happened because of other people selfishness and the life they were put in, so much…
The series list: The Risk Sidetracked Scarlet Angel All the Lies Paint it all red I binged through this series I was so consumed. It was intense and I went through the roller coaster of emotions. I Cursed, I cried and laugh at the same time. Lana and her brother were tortured, raped and left to die 10 years ago. Everything was covered by corrupted and scared people, even in high places. But she came back. She plotted and learned 10 years for revenge and she is not backing down. What she didn’t expect was to find love in the middle of her rampage. She is so strong and I admired her for all she went through. The plot was intense and we get to see more and more of the past through the series. The moral compass is twisted and I couldn’t fault her for anything she does. I loved the dialogue and sarcasm, and I laughed at the pun-intended jokes. There was so much wrongness in that town I was glad it burned. There is so much more to say about the series, but you have to read it. The secrets are coming out and nobody involved is…
